The top 50 organizations with the most votes will move on to the final judging phase. Around May 12, Seeds of Change® will announce the grant winners.

The grant will further the work of CFET which was started in 2007 by people from Sacred Heart Church and their concern for the Waterfront South section of Camden, NJ which is located in the proximity of a regional sewage treatment plant, a trash to steam plant and countless industries. In partnership with our neighbors, we seek to educate people into a more environmentally responsible way of living and sponsor local solutions to environmental challenges, with a focus on sustainable modes of food production. CFET manages 1 acre of garden, greenhouse and orchards in an area that struggles for environmental remediation. Our urban gardens facilitate innovative youth leadership initiatives and support greening of toxic land. CFET also hosts environmental justice retreats. This grant would help Eve’s Garden upgrade its composting system, build raised beds, buy a storage shed and repair an outdoor clay oven.

Thank you for supporting CFET and environmental and food justice in Camden, NJ.
