Build Interdependence

We seek to make visible the ecological, social, and spiritual interconnectedness that bind all humans to each other and to the planet.  No human endeavor can hope to exist beyond the reach of our shared cultural history or ignore our connection to the living world.  Only through the embrace of our interdependence can we create a positive vision of the future based on justice, solidarity, reconciliation, collaboration, ecological regeneration, and mutual aid.

Grow Leaders in Environmental Justice

We raise up leaders to understand and take action against a range of environmental issues that disproportionately harm poor communities and communities of color. Through training, leadership building and on the ground activity, we believe that the work of environmental justice requires us to get our hands in the “dirt” both physically and metaphorically as caring for the earth also means caring for our sisters and brothers.

Model Sustainable Living

We aspire to be a seedbed for the work of environmental transformation; where people of all backgrounds gather to reflect on our responsibility for the environment and learn both by hands-on activity as well as education, how we can begin to lessen our impact on the environment and work towards a more just and sustainable future.

Support Community Sovereignty

We believe that all communities deserve clean air, water and soil and the right to grow and eat healthy food. Without democratic control of the environment, communities often do not have control over these basic human rights and in turn, their health. Therefore, we support local efforts to protect and restore air, land, food, water, safety, health and self-determination.

Transformative Action

We aim to build an action-oriented space that in collaboration with our neighbors and partners works to transform policy, systems, the environment and the lives of all we meet.
